~NBA Playoffs~

This year in the NBA playoffs, it's looking like the finals are going to come down to the Los Angeles Lakers against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Lebron and the Cavs are playing unstoppable basketball, and the Lakers are looking like the power in the West with Andrew Bynum back in the lineup. In the East, it won't be the Celtics this year without perrenial all-star Kevin Garnett who is out with a season-ending knee injury. Orlando was playing well also until half-way through the season, their point guard went out with a torn labrum. The first round playoff matchup of Celtics Vs. Bulls is one of the best first round series I have seen in recent memory. 5 games of the 7 game series have come down to the final possession with a few of the games going into overtime (one double-OT game and one triple-OT game.)

My MVP for the regular season is Lebron James. No one can match his athleticism and drive to win. Run-ups for MVP are Kobe Bryant, last years MVP, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Paul. Rookie of the Year is most definitely Derrick Rose for the Chicago Bulls. Other rookies were impressive, but no one performed like he did this year, leading the bulls to the playoffs. Defensive Player of the Year is Dwight Howard for the Magic. His blocking and rebounding ability are unmatched.

With the Lakers Vs. the Cavaliers finals, my choice for the Championship is the Los Angeles Lakers.

~Superman~

Its a bird, Its a plane..............Its superman.....................or wait no its Michael Johnson. A player considered a steal because of his Athleticism, but also down graded because he has a questionable work ethic. Don't tell Michael Johnson that because he doesn't know where that observation came from. He is a man of comic book size strength and speed. That's why i have named him super-man or the renaissance man. He truly does seem like a perfect weapon for the Bengals at several positions. A guy who may be what they need to rush the passer, but could just as easily be that break out SAM linebacker the need. It will be interesting to see what they do with this one.

Michael Johnson Bio: (according to: http://www.footballsfuture.com/2009/prospects/michael_johnson.html )

Michael Johnson DE 6'7" 260 Georgia Tech

Johnson spent most of his freshman season on special teams, but managed to make six tackles and a sack on the year. As a sophomore, he only started one game but was effective off the edge. He had 34 tackles, six for loss, five sacks, and an interception on the year. Johnson again started one game as a junior, this time finishing with 21 tackles, six for loss, and four sacks for the season. He was a full time starter for the first time as a senior, and had a very productive season. Johnson finished the year with 43 tackles, 15 for loss, seven sacks, a pick, and even broke up seven passes.

I'm excited to see what they do with this one!!!!!!!!!!!

~Sting-REY~

"Rey Maualuga is anxious to show the other 31 teams what they are missing by passing him over in the NFL draft."

The place he calls home....... Cincinnati, Ohio.........WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE !!

This pick was a steal for the Cincinnati Bengals. They sure up a highly ranked defense with a great coordinator last season added in Mike Zimmer. Then they draft in my opinion the number one linebacker in the 2009 draft. Not only that Sting-Rey wants to show the other teams what they missed. He took his second round selection personal and come next season he is going to make the teams pay that passed up on him, and coming off of a very successful career at one of the countries most decorated programs; USC, he is poised to do so. The Bengals need team oriented confident and cocky players that are there to win and win it all. They have established that in this draft with there first two picks and not to mention the amazing free angency period. They Bengals definitly seem to be heading in the right direction for the ultimate prize.

~Sting-REY~

~Andre the Giant~

"With the sixth pick in the 2009 NFL Draft the Cincinnati Bengals select Andre Smith; Offensive Tackle; Alabama."

These were the world spoken by NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell, on 4/25/2009. The Bengals took a chance on a questionable guy. Not questionable on skill or smarts of the game, but questions raised about his ego and weight. However, many people found out very quickly the Bengals weren't gonna mess this one up; as they made the big 6'4" 337 pound Andre Smith Weigh in before he was drafted. This is huge pickup for the Bengals. Andre the Giant brings that much needed swagger the Bengals need on the left or right sides of the offensive line. Now if we could clone him we would have everything we need to sure up the comfort of qb Carson Palmer, but Andre Smith is one step in insuring the safety of Palmer. A big step, but still just a step.

~Bengals want 84 back~

It's crunch time and by the end of the weekend some big questions my be answered. T.J. Houshmandzadeh has a decision to make and according to him he wants it made by Saturday. So if everything goes 84's way he will be on some team by Saturday. He has stated he would like it to be in orange and black but and agreement between his agent and Bengals management must be reached in order for this to happen. His biggest recruiter within the Bengals seems to be Carson Palmer. Carson called 84 during his workout on Thursday. Carson basically said he wants to make history with this team and wants T.J. to be a part of that, and if things do not work out that he wants to remain friends. I believe they will get him I think it would be a bad move by Bengals management (and there due for a smart decision) to let T.J. get away. He is one of the most consistent players on the team regardless of record, and he is a team leader. I will be keeping my fingers crossed over the next 48 hours and i will either be happy or disappointed and worried about the future of the Bengals Offense. Either way i think it will work out for the best. This is their year!!

~Why are there Prisons~

This story really upset me because as you know I do not like with athletes/coaches get the easy way out of trouble. Welp folks its happened again. It has been reported that Mike Vick will be allowed to serve the last two months of his sentence, under house arrest. This really upsets me, Mike Vick admitted he did it was sentenced so shouldn't he serve this sentence. I personally think he should. Mike Vick is expected to be moved into a half-way house which is pretty much in my opinion prolly gonna be like a very nice condo within the next couple days. Next their going to tell us he is allowed to play when his sentence is up. People wonder why children never learn. This is a prime example. The man committed a felony and got a bulls@#t sentence to begin with now he gets to spend it in halfway house (condo/with luxuries. Whatever, this is a funny world we live in.

~Tiger's Comeback Haulted~

Tiger Woods played his first round of golf since his surgery and started off in the first round with a phenominal round of golf. The second round had its ups and downs and Tiger Woods is now going home as he was defeated by Tim Clark. Tim Clark did not bogey all day and just simply outplayed Tiger. Tiger woods however did look like the Tiger of old at times. He had to bad shots that seemed to hurt him. Many spectators are questioning if Tiger Came back from the surgery to fast. In my opinion Tiger was just rusty he will bounce back from this and Tim Clark deserves a lot of credit he played a great round of golf and kep the pressure on tiger woods all day which allowed him to edge out the legendary golfer and advance to the next round. This will not be the last you see of tiger he just needs to knock of the rust. Similiar to Carson Palmer coming back from his injury.Like they always say practice makes perfect.

~Twister Breaks a Record~

The Cincinnati Cyclones gained fame in the hockey world last year when they captured the Kelly Cup Trophy as the best team in farm system hockey. They accomplished another goal the other night at their Saturday game against the Dayton Bombers; their mascot Twister Cyclone broke the Guinness book of world records record for the longest head slide on ice. Twister slide an impressive 116 feet on his head across the ice. I received a lot of fan support and seem to be poised for victory when he started out for his attempts. On his first try he tied the record and on the second attempt he shattered it. This is the kind of thing that brings people to clones games they are fun an unpredictable. I had know idea i would get see a great hockey game and witness a world record being broken.

~Who Should Bengals Draft in First Round~

I can't believe it is almost time. The NFL Draft 2009 is right around the corner and the Cincinnati Bengals need to consider a lot of importan things in this draft. First off the Bengals need an Offensive tackle, with this in mind I think they need to select a tackle with their first pick and they need to consider; Michael Oher from Mississippi. This is a position that really hurt them last season all year. And Michael Oher is the answer he's a big fast and smart offensive linemen that could make an impact in the NFL immediately. They need somebody that is ready to step up and be the face of the offensive line. If Michael Oher is unavailable I think they should go for a defensive end / Outside linebacker in Brian Orakpo of Texas. He provides the speed and athletisim that would compliment a player like gathers and would be a lot like Pollack.

~Cyclones Game Collage~

Just a little something I put together after I went to an amazing Cyclones Game!!!!

~Cyclones Game~

On Saturday February 22nd, 2009 I attended the Cyclones Game. I had a blast. The Cyclones started out rough and Dayton seemed poised for victory as they took an early 1-0 lead. Then there was an altercation done by The Dayton Bombers net and a player from Dayton started a fight with a Cyclones player. He picked the wrong fight and after about 40 seconds got knocked out by the Cyclones player. After this the Cyclones grabbed the momentum away from the Bombers and they tied the game up on a power play goal to make the score 1-1. Then the game became a tug of war match as each team had chances to score. Then in the third period the cyclones connected for there second goal and this would be all they needed to seal the victory. So to my followers do you think that fighting is tatic in hockey anymore? I think this is what gave the cyclones the momentum in the game and put the chance for victory in thier hands.

~Go Cyclones~

~Shayne Graham Franchised~

The bengals have chosen to use there franchise tag on a place kicker. To ask my follwers, Do you are agree with this move? I am indifferent to this move. I am waiting to see what will happen with free agent pick ups. I think this was their best options since franchise tagging T.J. wasn't an option because number 84 didn't want the tag. Shayne Graham is the most consistent kicker since the days of Rackers and Breech. And it is true that kickers can win games, but I believe personally that kickers have to be in a position to win these games. And you get into the position to win these games by have star offensive players and a solid defense to keep you in ball games. The other argument I would make against this decision is that a good kicker in the NFL is a dime a dozen. And Shayne Graham can be replaced. T.J is going to be harder to replace and you could have used the money you had to pay the players you need. I personally would have tagged Cedric Benson and then you build on your running game, or I would have not used the franchise tag at all and distributed the money evenly throughout the roster. I think they will make enough off season moves that they will be ok.

~A-rod Exposed~

All of the scandal with steroids is kind of exhausting but it masde its way back into the news this week. When the highest paid player in Major League Baseball was exposed as another name on the list. A-rod has not denied these claims but he has just said you will have to talk to the union rep. I think he will recover from these allegations but he definitely will have to do this over time.
He is going to have to prove himself as a person and a player off of roids. To be as recognizable as he is with the MLB brand he is going to have to be perfect in order to keep his reputation as a top class player and not just another cheater.

A-rod its gonna be a rough road but good luck I guess. They need to punish him like they do everyone so it will be interesting to see how they handle it.

Your not above the Law

Head Ole Miss Basketball Coach; Andy Kennedy, was involved in an altercation with a cab driver on Decemeber 18th, 2008. This is a situation that might not turn out well for both Andy Kennedy and Director of Basketball Operations; William Armstrong. Kennedy is accused of using racial slurs and abusing the cab driver. This video really bothers me. Andy Kennedy is a basketball coach at a university trying to build its program in the SEC. He is trying throughout the video to convince the officer he should be let go because of who he is and what he does.

This is the problem with players that get into the pros like your Mike Vicks and your Chris Henrys and other coaches that set bad examples. They think they are invincible. And why not think things like this when you see a video like this. "I was the former Uc basketball coach,"Kennedy says. Well who cares you need to grow up and learn how to treat people with respect;especially an officer of the law.I do not know the stories facts completely because I was not there, but you need to own up and be an adult. Set an example for the youth of America and the world and show them that being ignorant isn't right. This is foolish that we put these coaches and players on the high pedestal. They need to be treated like common people and prosecuted on fair terms according to the justice system.

As for William Armstrong he needs to learn to diffuse a situation and not make it worse, he's actually more guilty then Andy Kennedy for support what he did and then acting like a child to an officer of the law crying and playing the well he said this to us game; when he was asked what happened. This is just a bad situation watch the video and let me know what you think of the whole thing.

~Superbowl XLIII~

Cardinals-21
Steelers-13

Well the time has come it is Superbowl time. And this year let me be the first to say i am watching for the commercials. I am not a fan of the steelers i hope the cardinals dominate them like they have everybody in the playoffs. I think it would be really neat for another wild card team to win the superbowl for a second year in a row. I think it shows the spirit of the game is still there and its not all about underdogs and amazing teams. Its about who comes to play.

I was not happy with two of the hits made by the steelers in the baltimore game and I think that the cardinals are to tough for the Steelers and that they can take the hits and laugh. I hope Willis Mcghee has a speedy recovery. And i think they need to make stricter fines on reckless hits in the NFL. I have played football my whole life and certain hits are avoidable and unnessesary. The steelers have a reputation for get that last hit in and trying to hurt players.

On another note, because I can't just sit here and bash the Steelers, I think it will be a defensive battle that will see Kurt Warner coming out on top with experience and more weapons. I look for Fitzgerlad and Boldin to have BIG games and i predict Fitzgerald will have two tds and boldin one.

Either way its gonna be a great game won in the final drive.

~The Very Young Cincinnati Reds~

Like most Reds fans going into 2009 I am looking for a season of competitive post season baseball that will entertain me and put me on the edge of my seat. But in recent years there have been ups and downs during the season ending with watching other teams play for the ultimate prize.

The reds however have took an different approach since then end of last year and into this year. They have traded away the faces and names of the Reds high income plan from the Carl Linder era. Griffey and Dunn are gone, the two highest paid roster members and also very old members of the team Hatteburg, Friel, etc. This trend of signing young talent is going to lead to more small ball. Which i think the reds have needed for a while. The days of hit three homers and winning are over, as they have been for about 3-4 years now. You need to be playing small ball to win in October to advance to the post season. Teams have batting lineups that have no weaknesses. The homer run hitters are nice like Dunn, but when they aren't hitting they are striking out at record levels. Strikeouts are one way into the record books but not if you want a pennant. they also have beefed up and focused a lot on their bullpen during this offseason.

Look for a new type of baseball when you go to reds games this year i think it should be very exciting.

~AFC and NFC Championship Game~

Ravens: 20
Steelers: 17

Cardinals: 35
Eagles: 31

This post shows my predictions for the results of the NFC and AFC Championship. I will first talk about the AFC matchup between Conference rivals the Baltimore Ravens and that other team form Western Pennsylvania. Im sorry but im a bengals fan and Carson Palmer will have has revenge on the Steelers next year. But anyways back to the match up. I am going to take the Ravens in this battle of defenses. Not because I dislike the steelers. I think that Joe Flacco will handle the pressure of the Steelers defense, better then Ben Roethlisberger will handle the pressure of Ed Reed and Ray Lewis and their dominating defense. Joe Flacco is young but is on fire and with a balanced run attack will have at least two touchdown passes. I believe that Ed Reed will have 2 Interceptions and this will be more then enough to send the Ravens back to the superbowl.

The second matchup is harder to call in my opinion. But I am going to take the Cardinals over the Eagles in a high scoring shootout of veteran quarterbacks and runningbacks. I am also a fan of Larry fitzgerald (Wide receiver), Kurt Warner (Quarterback), and Edrine James. (Rb) And although I am not a Donovan Mcnabb fan but i think he is the only thing besides Brain Westbrook that keeps them in this game. But in the end I am predicting the Cardinals go to the Superbowl by 4.
